Wednesday, May 12th:

“Navigating the Road to Sustainability”

Green Property Solutions along with our strategic partners, Environmental Building Strategies and iReuse, who focus on maximizing efficiencies in Energy, Water and Waste, are currently “Navigating the Road to Sustainability” and plan to share how we’re doing it.

You will have an opportunity to see firsthand, the processes and tools they use to bring the concepts of ‘transparency and immediacy’ to their consulting assignments.

You will learn about innovative and proprietary software tools designed to measure a client’s savings and over-all success.

You will hear from ENERGY STAR and LEED experts who will demonstrate how to recognize the relationship between a building occupant’s behaviors, sustainable improvements and enhanced building value by measuring Net Present Value (NPV) and rates of return (IRR) for clients.

And finally, you will see how all of these measures contribute to a comprehensive sustainability program benefiting building owners, managers, tenants and any corporation interested in operating a more sustainable business while enhancing their corporate social responsibility (CSR) brand.

Where: Environmental Building Strategies

1014 Howard Street, San Francisco

When: 5:30-7:30 PM

Cost: $10 Green Chamber & SBA members, $15 non-members, $5 more if not pre-registered. Proceeds go to the Green Chamber.

Green Property Solutions, based in San Rafael, CA and Environmental Building Strategies, based in San Francisco, CA have now joined forces in order to provide a more comprehensive Commercial Sustainability program.

Whether it’s a relatively simple Waste Audit, an ENERGY STAR certification or a full LEED Certification project involving an in-house mechanical engineer providing retro-commissioning services, we have the tools and resources to make it happen.  Whether your organization simply wants to get a better understanding of what’s to come in the federal, state and local legislative world, needs help sourcing greener materials or wants to develop an all-inclusive program, culture and brand around Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), we can help.
One of the things we are particularly excited about is the proprietary software tools that EBS brings to the table.  EBS has developed several tools that streamline the necessary processes and make the road to sustainability much easier to navigate.  Some of the tools include:
  • Sustainable Financial Impact Analysis (SFIA) – Sorts and estimates the NPV of all contemplated improvements which helps to facilitate the decision making process.
  • Waste Financial Impact Analysis (WFIA) – Software that helps to optimize waste diversion.
  • LEED EDGE - Sophisticated software that simplifies the LEED process (it was developed by a Principal at EBS, who was one of the co-writers of the LEED exam administered by the USGBC).
Why is Green Property Solutions different from other energy efficiency consultants?

What we know is that all buildings are different and that the goals and objectives of ownerships are different.  It is clear that many of our clients simply want to explore their options and to understand the many ways they could be implementing an overall Sustainability Program and Long Range Plan.  They want to know which new building guidelines will impact their businesses, what’s important in the legislative world and where they can get tripped up if they don’t start the process now.  They want to understand what’s to come so that they can start planning.  Sometimes this means a future LEED certification, but sometimes this just means they want to be as energy efficient as possible today!

That’s why we’re different  We understand the need to engage building occupants and other stakeholders in the process.  We offer a customized plan to each of our clients based on individual goals and objectives. For GPS, we’re interested in a long term relationship and we want to help guide your Sustainable Business Vision.

We at Green Property Solutions look forward to hearing from you and are anxious to continue Navigating the Road to Sustainability, one building at a time.

One of our very own, James Rogers, was involved in a 6-day action to create awareness about climate change and the importance of the number 350 (read more at http://www.350.org). He rode 350 miles down the coast of Northern California from Arcata to San Francisco, stopping all along the way speaking to school children and anyone else who would listen to the group. The event culminated in a rally in downtown San Francisco on October 24th.

Way to go James!!!
